Thermal Crochet Stitch Coasters Pattern

Thermal Crochet stitch coasters are a quick and delightful project that not only adds a pop of handmade charm to your space but also serves a practical purpose. These coasters are thicker and better heat resistant, thanks to the Thermal crochet stitch and the cotton yarn that we are going to use to make these coasters. Make them for yourself or create few as a unique gifts for family and friends. Use any color of your choice.

These coasters are made using a Thermal Single Crochet stitch. It creates a very thick fabric and is one of the sturdiest stitches. It’s like putting 2 pieces of crochet cloth together, which makes it perfect for making potholders, coasters, blankets, or even bags. And if you don’t know how to make Thermal stitch, don’t worry. I’ve step-by-step instructions in the pattern below. If you know how to do a single crochet, you got this!

Tips –

  • This is a general tip. If you are making potholders or coasters using yarn, always use cotton yarn. Acrylic yarn is not heat resistant and may melt.
  • The most challenging part of this stitch is to decide where to insert the hook. It is quite easy to miss the last stitch of the row. My suggestion is to use a stitch marker to mark that 1st stitch of the row so that it is easier to find that stitch when you are at the end of the next row.
