Crochet Crossbody Phone Bag

Have you ever spent at least 5 mins looking for a phone or a credit card in your big purse? Has the thought ever crossed your mind that you wished you had a small purse just to carry your phone, license and some cash?

There have been quite a few times when I absolutely didn’t want to lug around my usual big bag just for a phone and a credit card or some cash, and my driver’s license. I’ve tried carrying these items in my pockets, but it was not that convenient. And how about those days when your attire doesn’t have a pocket? That’s why I decided to crochet this small crossbody purse. After completing the bag, I realized that not only I can use it to carry my phone but it is also versatile enough to be a perfect accessory while traveling, especially at the airport to carry things like tickets and passport. Because of the button, I can keep everything secure, but at the same time the things inside will be easily accessible when needed.

Crochet Crossbody Phone bag

This purse is completely beginner friendly. Therefore, if you are an experienced crochetier, this will be a super quick project for you. I’ve used single crochet and double crochet to make this bag.

Alternative Ideas –

The pattern is for a crossbody bag with a strap, but you can totally customize it to suit your style.

Here are some ideas –

  1. I have shown you couple of options using different color yarns. But feel free to use one color or multiple yarns.
  2. If you want completely no sew project, you can skip making button loop and sewing the button. Just finish the last round as any other rounds, slip stitch at the end and fasten off.
  3. You can make this smaller or bigger by simply reducing the number of rounds.
  4. Want to simplify the design further? Just continue with single crochet rounds for the entire bag.

It’s a very quick project and you should be able finish it within couple of hours. I’ve added a video of step-by-step instructions. So, anytime you feel stuck, or have questions, checkout my video where I show each round in detail. Or you can comment below anytime you feel stuck and I’ll help you out.

Give it a try and share the results with me on Instagram or Pinterest. And as always, let me know in the comments what you think of this design! Hope you enjoy this project as much as I did.
